Snakes on a Sock KAL

Pattern of Goodness by Miss Lime! This sock was inspired by the Lime & Violet podcast of a similar name and by the fact that after listening to that episode, so many of our listeners had run-ins with snakes actually in their house.

REVIVAL!

Check it out! After talking with people at Knitter's Connection, especially Miss Lime, I've decided to revive the SOAS KAL. Won't you please join me? I think I'm going to use my limeaide and violet yarnlove, but we'll see. Anyone interested? email me at knittinglizzie@gmail.com.

They had to pay super amounts of money when the pattern came out because it was downloaded soooo much! let's pay them back with some kick ass socks!

Half a pair

It's taken me long enough, but I have finished one sock using this pattern. Here it is:

I'm using Koigu's KPPPM in color #8334. It fits nicely in the foot, but is a bit loose around the leg. It will be a couple of weeks until I get to the second sock because I've got a more pressing project that needs to be finished. This is a fun pattern though!

doesn't fit!!!

So I finished the first sock earlier in the month (and now am working everyday a lot at the whole foods, so I haven't had much time!) and it doesn't fit!!! My best friend tried it on, her roomate, everyone tried it on and it doesn't fit!!!!!

This happened to me with the very first sock I made. I'm making the jaywalkers, but in the biggest size EVER! and it fits perfectly! Do I have gigantic feet? or am I knitting tooooo tightly for socks? I know I'm a tight knitter, but I'm not that tight!

I've never made a sock pattern bigger, but how many stitches would I add if I wanted to make a 6th and 7th round? 6 to each side? I'd really like to make this pattern work for me! I really like it!

Snakes on a Sock progress

HOT!

socktoberfest!

socktoberfest

If you haven't had a chance to, you should join socktoberfest at Lolly Knitting Around, then go join the group at flickr.com. http://www.flickr.com/groups/socktoberfest/

I'm trying to do some promotion of the pattern there, but with the weird net problems recently I'm a little worried people will be turned off when they can't read the blog. Yikes! I'm hoping you're seeing this now! As I told Lime after she emailed me I'm hoping it is a problem with the planned outtage blogger had this weekend!

my snakes!

I used some knitpicks dyeable yarn to create this:

It is self striping, done with some kool-aid. but enough about the yarn!

HERE is the beginning of my snakes on a sock!!!

Thanks to those who helped with the clarifying of the pattern! it was super helpful!

Errata from message board

From Miss Alacariel:
In the pattern, it is written like this:

N1: k11, p2, M1, k1, M1
N2: M1, k1, M1, p2, k11
...and so on.

Those bolded M1s, should be Kfb (or knit in the front and back of each stitch. That's just not mentioned in the pattern and there are so many different ways to M1, that it can be easy to get confused unless it's specified.

From Miss Random Knitter:
The second N4 looks the same as (N4) of Round 4 of Repeat #4, so I ignored while knitting Round 3. Each repeat is similar, so I followed the same format.
Round 3 of Repeat #3 is the same as Round 2.
Round 4 of Repeat #3 is almost the same as Round 1 of Repeat #3, only replace "M1, K1, M1" with "Sl2, k1, psso". I tried this and it looks fine.
